Perth: The Greek Language and Culture Institute of Evangelismos (GLCI) Fund Raiser luncheon

The Greek Language and Culture Institute (GLCI)  of Evangelismos arranged a traditional souvlaki fund raiser lunch on the premises of the Church of the Annunciation in West Perth at the commencement of the new academic school year.

His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, a great advocate of the Greek language and supporter of the Greek school, attended the event and blessed the meal along with parish priest, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Father Emmanuel Stamatiou, who is also a great pillar and a pioneer of the school’s success.

The President of the Greek Orthodox Community of WA, Mr. John Karakatsanakis along with the President of the Greek Language and Culture Institute of Evangelismos, Mr Georgios Tsitiridis, combined their efforts in bringing together the school and church communities.

The purpose of the lunch was to raise funds to provide additional resources for the Greek School, such as the purchasing of books from Greece.

It was wonderful to see a great team of volunteers and sponsors coming together to make this event a huge success.

The Greek Language and Culture Institute (GLCI) runs Saturday morning and afternoon classes and has now reached over 100 students.
