Perth: The Feasts of the Circumcision of Christ and Saint Basil the Great

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, Archiepiscopal Vicar of the Archdiocesan District of Perth, officiated at the Matins Service and Divine Liturgy on the first of January for the dual feast of the Circumcision of Jesus Christ and St Basil the Great, at the Church of Saints Constantine and Helene in Northbridge.

Following the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, the Doxology Service was recited for the commencement of the New Year. This was then followed by the cutting of the parish Vasilopita. The person who found the gold coin was the parish Head Chanter, Dr. John Stamatis.

At the conclusion of the service, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea conveyed to all parishioners the blessing and wishes of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia for the New Year.
