Perth: Forefeast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos
On Sunday the 14th of August, the eve of the great feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea officiated the Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Church of Sts Constantine and Helene in Perth WA.
In his sermon, His Grace reflected on the manifold traits and virtues of the Most Holy Mother of God which made her the only worthy maiden to receive and bear within her womb the Creator of the Universe. After the fall of Adam and Eve, His Grace observed that Christ did not immediately come to redeem His creation. Rather, He waited until, after a period of preparation, humanity produced the most perfect, humble and worthy human person from whom He might be born and take on human flesh.
His Grace conveyed the paternal blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios and wished everyone a blessed feast of the Dormition of our Lady.
