Perth: Cheesefare Sunday and Fortieth Day Memorial for the late Father Nicolaos Bozikis

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea presided at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saints Constantine and Helene on Cheesefare Sunday the 17th of March 2024. 

In His sermon, His Grace wished the parishioners a blessed and salvific Lent and then went on to say:
“Let us thank God, who has granted us repentance as a “way”, to enter the lost Paradise. The entire Lenten Period is a time that calls all to repentance and in which the Church encourages everyone to conduct a self-evaluation and to see where we currently are (spiritually) and where God wants us to be”.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the 40th Day Memorial Service was conducted for Father Nicolaos Bozikis, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne. This was then followed by a memorial luncheon in the parish hall.
