Patronal Feast Day of Metropolitan Seraphim of Sevasteia in Sydney

On Monday, 4 December 2023, the memory of the Hieromartyr Saint Seraphim, Bishop of the Phanar, was celebrated with due ecclesiastical splendour at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady, in Sydney, in which His Eminence Metropolitan Seraphim of Sevasteia celebrates his patronal feast day.

The Matins Service and Divine Liturgy were both presided over by Metropolitan Seraphim, who was joined by the Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and Cathedral Dean, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christophoros Krikelis, and by other clergy of the city of Sydney, while also present were Their Graces, Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis and Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Seraphim spoke appropriately to the congregation about the life of his Patron Saint, Saint Seraphim, emphasising his indomitable spirit and devotion to Christ.

After the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Metropolitan Seraphim of Sevasteia received the warm wishes of Their Graces the Bishops, the reverend clergy and the faithful for his name day celebration, while after this, refreshments were offered to all in the Great Hall of Saint Andrew’s Theological College.
