On Friday, 26 January 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiated from the Parathrone in the Venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George during the Great Vespers for the Feast Day of the Translation of the relics of Saint John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople.
According to ancient tradition, upon the Patriarchal Throne, the Holy Icon of the Saint and the Patriarchal Staff were placed, while the Holy Relics of Saint John Chrysostom, which were returned to Constantinople a few years ago from Rome, were placed on the Solea of the Church for veneration by the faithful laity.
