Patriarch of Georgia: Lord, save Ukraine, save Georgia and the world

Patriarch Ilia of Georgia sent a strong message in support of peace in Ukraine.

According to a communiqué posted on the website of the Patriarchate, Patriarch Ilia stressed that “unfortunately, hostilities on the part of Russia continue in Ukraine, costing thousands of lives.”

Specifically, on Thursday, the Patriarch of Georgia called on the faithful, “wherever you are (in church, at work, at home or on the street), let us all pray together to the Lord for Ukraine and for the whole world.”

“Lord, save Ukraine, save Georgia and the world!” concluded Patriarch Ilias in his prayer.

He also blessed the clergy on Sunday, March 20, after the end of the Divine Liturgy, to pray for peace in Ukraine and for the repose of the souls of those who perished in this war.

“May God hear our prayers and have mercy on us,” concluded the Patriarch of Georgia.
