Patriarch of Antioch John X arrives on Cyprus to visit ailing Archbishop Chrysostomos II

The visiting Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, His Beatitude John X, on Tuesday afternoon officiated at the con-celebratory Vespers at the Cathedral of Saint Dimitrios in Nicosia, the capital of the east Mediterranean island republic of Cyprus.
The festal service that followed was officiated by His Grace Bishop Christophoros of Karpassia, who thanked the Primate of the Antioch Patriarchate for the honour he bestowed on the service with his presence.
Patriarch John X urgently arrived on Cyprus when he was informed about the state of health of the Archbishop of Cyprus, His Beatitude Chrysostomos II. The Patriarch of Antioch visited the Archbishop at the Archdiocese, accompanied by the Cypriot Minister of Health.
In his statements afterwards, the Patriarch of Antioch stated that “…We have this love, our relations with the Church of Cyprus are historic, from the early years of Christianity, which is why I came when I learned that the Archbishop is enduring this difficult time with his health.”
