Patriarch of Alexandria Theodoros II officiates at Divine Liturgy in commemoration of solemn memory of St. Cyril III Lukaris

The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, this week officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal chapel of the Apostle Mark, within the Holy Monastery of St. Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, and in commemoration of the solemn memory of St. Cyril III Lukaris, or Lucareos, a 17th century Patriarch of Alexandria and later Ecumenical Patriarch.

The Patriarch of Alexandria referred to a recent decision by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople to inscribe in the Hagiology of the Eastern Orthodox Church the celebrating Holy Hieromartyr Cyril.
