Patriarch of Alexandria: My heart aches when people are killed in Ukraine

Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa, who was in his hometown and prayed at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Minas for the two orthodox peoples, sent messages of peace.

“I pray to Saint Minas, “Lord, give these orthodox peoples peace.” noted the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, who from Heraklion made special reference to the large land donated by the President of Egypt Al-Sisi to the Patriarchate in the new Administrative Capital of Egypt, emerging from the desert, which is the newest capital of the world.

The Patriarchate has its own space, as a church and a multicultural space will be built that will embrace all the people, which Patriarch Theodore dedicates to his three homelands, Greece, Egypt, and Cyprus.

It is a huge space, in Cairo, which will be the new center of Orthodoxy, while it will be a beacon for the missionary work of the Patriarchate in the long-suffering continent.

The Patriarch was in Heraklion to congratulate the new Archbishop Eugenios of Crete, who expressed his joy for his presence, noting that “we are proud of his bright Patriarchate and that he has already written golden pages in the book of our ecclesiastical history”.
