Ordination of new Bishop, His Grace Bishop Chrysostomos of Vereniki in Athens

On Sunday, 18 December 2022, the ordination of His Grace Bishop Elect Chrysostomos of Vereniki took place at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Athens.

With the Blessing of His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria, His Eminence Geron Metropolitan Gabriel of Leontopolis conducted the ordination.

Along with His Eminence Metropolitan Gabriel of Leontopolis, Metropolitan Iakovos of Mytilene, Metropolitan George of Guinea and Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia concelebrated the Divine Liturgy and took part in the ordination.

It should be mentioned that His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria, Theodore II, and His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece, attended the Ordination and prayed from within the Holy Altar.

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was represented by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Peristeri.

It is worth noting that the Engolpion that was given to the new Bishop of Vereniki by Metropolitan George of Guinea, belonged to the Blessed First Metropolitan Chrysostomos (Voultsou) of Nea Smyrni.
