Northcote: Feast Day at the Chapel of Panagia Myrtidiotissa in Wangaratta, Victoria
In the city of Wangaratta, in regional Victoria, with a distance of about 3 hours from the capital city of Melbourne, is the Holy Chapel of Panagia Myrtidiotissa.
On the occasion of this year’s feast of the Synaxis of Panagia Myrtidiotissa, His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, made a trip to Wangaratta, presided over the festive divine services, representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
His Grace was accompanied by priests from the Archdiocesan District of Northcote, while the Parishes of the Region had taken care of transporting the faithful by buses, as every year.
His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, addressing the congregation after the Divine Liturgy, expressed his joy at the fact that the holy Chapel opened its doors again, after two difficult years of the pandemic.
In addition, His Grace referred to the miracle of finding the holy Icon of Panagia Myrtidiotissa in Kythera,while he also spoke in general about the many appearances of the Virgin Mary and the performance of miracles,pointing out the need for people to perform miracles in their own way, appearing on the side of people in need, of people who are tested by sorrows, of people who need a little love and support.

After the Divine Liturgy, a traditional greek festival was offered to all those who attended the feast day celebrations.
