North Macedonia’s FM visits fire victims undergoing treatment in Thessaloniki

North Macedonia’s foreign minister, Timco Mucunski, has traveled to Thessaloniki to visit the victims of the deadly fire in Kocani who are currently receiving treatment in the city.
During his visit to Papageorgiou and 424 General Military Hospital, alongside Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Tasos Chatzivasileiou, Mucunski expressed his deep gratitude to Greece for its swift response, heartfelt compassion and concrete assistance in the wake of the tragedy.
“This is the most tragic moment in my nation’s history – a moment that will likely remain in our collective memory for the rest of our lives,” he said, referring to the devastating nightclub fire that claimed 59 lives and left hundreds injured.
“However, what must also remain in our collective memory – and something we must never forget – is the solidarity we received,” he added, noting that one of his earliest contacts the morning of the tragedy was with his Greek counterpart, George Gerapetritis.
In total, five severely injured victims are currently being treated in Thessaloniki.
On Monday, the Hellenic Air Force transferred additional patients to a hospital in Athens.
