Metropolitan of Sweden welcomes the Chaplain of the Swedish Royal Palace

On Friday, 12 January 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan
Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia welcomed the Lutheran Bishop of
Strängnäs, Sweden and chaplain of the royal palace H.G. Johan Dalman to
the St. George Cathedral in Stockholm.

Immediately following his arrival, Metropolitan Cleopas warmly
welcomed his honored guest, giving him a tour of the Cathedral,
informing him of its history and the restoration work that was
recently completed. Their tour ended at the Museum of Hellenic
Christian Heritage, where the two prelates discussed various matters
pertaining to current events.

Afterward, the Metropolitan presented Bishop Dalman with a copy of the
Metropolis’ publication on the Patriarchal Visit to Stockholm in 2019
and asked him to convey the heartfelt wishes of His All-Holiness
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf
and all members of the royal family, on the occassion of the new
year, together with his own personal wishes.

He also offered him a copy of his English-language two-volume study entitled “St. Nectarios
Kefalas Metropolitan of Pentapolis” to give to the King, while Bishop
Dalman gave Metropolitan Cleopas a copy of a Byzantine icon, which the
latter placed on display on site at the museum.

Bishop Dalman congratulated Metropolitan Cleopas on his ministry in Scandinavia, noting the bonds of sincere friendship that exist between them, while asking the latter to convey his respect to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

He also expressed his admiration for the exceptional quality of the projects resulting in the complete restoration of the Cathedral.

Following addresses and the exchange of gifts, the Metropolitan hosted his visitor for a luncheon at a local area restaurant.
