Metropolitan of Kyiv presided over Divine Liturgy on Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross

On the third Sunday of Great Lent, which is called the Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross, on 7 April 2024, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy in the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.

The head of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine was accompanied by Metropolitan Evstratiy of Bilotserkiv, Bishop Efrem of Vasylkiv, brothers of the holy monastery, and members of the clergy.

After the Gospel reading, the Metropolitan delivered a sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord during this time of national peril.

Prayers were also offered for the Ukrainian soldiers defending the country, for the government, and for the people of Ukraine. Additionally, prayers were said for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians who have perished in the ongoing conflict.
