Memorial service for the late Marianna Vardinogiannis by the Patriarch of Alexandria

His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, was saddened to learn of the passing away of the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, the late Marianna Vardinogiannis, Lady of the Churches and founding member of the Non-Governmental Organisation “Light of Africa” of the Patriarchal Throne of Alexandria, and performed a memorial service for the repose of this blessed soul on the morning of 25 July 2023, at the Holy Patriarchal Chapel of the Holy Great Martyr George and Saint Nektarios of Pentapolis.

He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families and associates of the deceased benefactress of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, underlining the spontaneous kindness and sensitivity of her loving heart to every suffering person, especially young children, for whom she developed a great charity work.
