Melbourne: The Akathist Hymn at the Church of Saint Catherine, Malvern

On Friday evening, 19 April 2024, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Melbourne officiated at the Service of the Akathist Hymn at the Church of Saint Catherine in the suburb of Malvern in Melbourne. His Grace was joined by Parish Priest, Father George Adamakis and Father Dimitrios Drougas, while the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Mr. Emmanuel Kakavelakis was also present.

During his sermon, Bishop Kyriakos, after conveying to the congregation the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, shared some of his personal spiritual experiences connected with the holy person of the Virgin Mary.

Finally, His Grace urged the faithful seek the Virgin Mary’s intercessions and her guidance, as well as to love their brothers and sisters and to avoid judging others.
