Melbourne: Sunday of the Myrrhbearers – His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis at Mentone

Today, Sunday, May 8, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis officiated at the Holy Church of the Archangels in Mentone, Victoria.

The Divine Liturgy was also attended by  Archimandrite Very Rev. Father Athanasios Iviritis who preached the divine word during the Holy Liturgy.

His Grace Bishop Kyriakos warmly wished Many Years ( Χρόνια Πολλά ) to all mothers for International Mother’s Day.

Characteristically, His Grace, sharing his thoughts, stressed that today we must also have our thoughts with the mothers who are indignant about their children who are lost in drugs and other difficult life situations.

He pointed out most importantly  that we must also keep in mind those mothers who may not celebrate as we will celebrate this Mother’s Day. His Grace encouraged that women imitate The Holy Theotokos, Virgin Mary and pray to Her for their children and for all the lost children of the world.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, in His Grace’s short homily, he conveyed to all the congregation present, the Paschal paternal prayers and blessings of His Eminence  Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

Finally, he thanked Father Athenasios Iviritis for his presence and the members of the parish council, after which they all attended a meal in his honour.
