Melbourne: St. John’s College dedicated the month of May to honouring the Hellenes of Pontos
St. John’s College dedicated the month of May to honouring the Hellenes of Pontos. Through a series of educational initiatives and events, the school aimed to raise awareness, educate, and engage students in the rich history and culture of the Pontians.
Throughout the month, students delved deep into the history and legacy of the Hellenes of Pontos in their classroom studies. Lessons focused on the unique traditions, customs and language of the region, allowing students to develop a deeper understanding of the vibrant heritage that existed before the tragedy of the Pontian Genocide.By Kristian Raspa, Head of Greek Language and Culture
