Melbourne: Meatfare Sunday at the Parish of Saint Athanasios, Springvale

On 10 March, Meatfare Sunday, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Melbourne, visited the Church of Saint Athanasios in the suburb of Springvale, Melbourne, where he presided over the Divine Liturgy, and was joined in concelebration by His Grace Bishop Themistocles of Nicopolis, of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. The two Hierarchs were joined by Archimandrite Kosmas Damianides and Father Dimitrios of Drougas in the Divine Liturgy.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Encyclical of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Holy Archdiocese and for the recent decisions of the Ecumenical Patriarchate regarding the approval of the new Constitution of the local Church was read to the congregation. His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis spoke appropriately to the faithful of the Parish of Saint Athanasios, while conveying to them the blessings of their Chief Shepherd, Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
