Melbourne: Feast Day of the Church of Saint Catherine, Malvern
With ecclesiastical splendour, the memory of Saint Catherine the Great Martyr was celebrated in the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne. The centre of the feast day celebrations took place at the Church of Saint Catherine in the suburb of Malvern, where the Holy Feast was presided over by His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Melbourne. His Grace Bishop Kyriakos was joined by His Grace Bishop Themistocles of Nicopolis, of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, as well as by Father George Adamakis, Parish Prist of the Church, and other clergy from the city of Melbourne.
Among the large congregation that flocked to the celebrating Church, both on the eve and on the main day of the feast, was the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Mr. Emmanuel Kakavelakis.
His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis spoke appropriately about the honoured Saint Catherine to the faithful, while conveying to them the blessings and wishes of their Shepherd, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
