Melbourne: Archdiocesan District of Melbourne to present Series of Talks “The Power of the Word”

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios and the guidance of His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis the following 4 talks will be presented as part of the series:

“The Power of the Word”

Speaker: Mr. Dean Damatopoulos ST ANDREW’S – FOREST HILL

The Impact of Words on Creation – an experiment with rice

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Dean is Year 6 &7 Coordinator and Middle School Science and Orthodox Studies teacher at Oakleigh Grammar and a first-year student of Theology at St Andrew’s Theological College

Speaker: Dr. Nicholas Manolios STS CONSTANTINE & HELEN – SOUTH YARRA  

“The power of the Word- Then and Now” 

Dr Manolios, is Professor of Rheumatology at University of Sydney, and Senior medical staff specialist at Westmead Hospital, Sydney.  His research interests include drug design, drug delivery, and gene therapy.

 

Sunday June 5th @ 7pm

Speaker: Fr Gerasimos Koutsouras ST HARALAMBOS – TEMPLESTOWE

How would they believe if they haven’t heard and how would they hear without someone preaching? Romans 10:14

Fr Gerasimos is the Parish Priest of St George at Rose Bay in Sydney. He was also on the faculty of St Andrew’s Theological College for sixteen years, teaching and lecturing Church History Byzantine Music, Hymnology and Modern Greek.

Speaker: Fr Chris Dimolianis STS RAPHAEL, NIKOLAOS AND IRENE – BENTLEIGH

Fr Chris is Parish Priest at St Eustathios Church in South Melbourne and is a graduate of St Andrew’s Theological College.
