“Kalimera Café” at St George College in Adelaide – Blessing Service and official opening

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, on Friday the 24th of May 2024, the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Adelaide, His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope, had the pleasure to officiate at the Blessing Service and official opening of the new canteen at St George College, the Kalimera Cafe.

His Grace was assisted by Father Diogenis Patsouris and Father John Saredakis. Present was the federal Member for Adelaide, Mr. Georganas MP as well as many other distinguished guests from the Council, the Independent Schools Board and the College Board of Governors.

With the prayers of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, it is hoped that the Kalimera Cafe will not only be a place of comfort and nourishment for the attendees, but also an environment of spiritual enrichment for the dedicated staff, conscientious parents and our beloved students who frequent the cafe. 

As a beautiful complement to the education of our children, the Kalimera Cafe will be a vivid witness to all that Education in our Orthodox Christian Schools will never be limited to the narrow confines of the classroom, but rather will manifest itself as an intrinsic value of Christian living.
