Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church calls for prayer and support amidst fire crisis

The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church (BOC-BP), deeply concerned by the devastating fires ravaging parts of the country, is calling for prayer and support for all those involved in battling the blaze.

This includes firefighters, Ministry of Internal Affairs employees, volunteers, and anyone aiding in the fight against the fires, as well as those who have been affected, losing their homes and in need of special assistance and protection.

In these challenging times, as thousands of acres of Bulgarian land are consumed by this disaster, the Synod urges the faithful to pray to the Mother of God – the Holy Virgin Mary, to the Holy Great Martyr Marina, and to the Holy Prophet Elijah, the patron saint of firefighters, to intercede for us. May their prayers invoke God’s protection over our people, shielding us from further calamity and keeping us unharmed.
