His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis presides over Matins and Divine Liturgy at St Raphael’s Parish in Liverpool, NSW
Yesterday the 19 December 2021, Sunday before Christmas His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra attended the Parish Community of St Raphael’s Liverpool and presided over Matins and the Divine Liturgy. It must be noted that His Grace served the Parish for over 5 years as a Priest.
Following the service Parish Priest Rev Asterios Zouriakas welcomed His Grace and spoke about the the Bishops’ contribution to the Parish over the years. He mentioned the work ethic, dedication, love and patience His Grace had and wished him all the very best in his new role.
In return His Grace thanked Fr Asterios for his kind words and thanked His Eminence Archbishop Makarios for the opportunity to come and serve at the Parish. Moreover he asked everyone to follow Christ by coming to Church more, by praying more and by loving more. His Grace emphasised the importance of forgiveness and showing mercy and compassion to all.
After the service His Grace greeted everyone at the hall and cut a cake in his honour. A gift was then presented to His Grace on behalf of the Parish for his election as a Bishop.
His Grace thanked everyone and on behalf of His Eminence wished everyone a blessed Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.
