Great and Holy Saturday from the church of St Panteleimon in Goulburn
With the Blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis visited the regional town of Goulburn and presided over the Holy Saturday morning service, Vespers of Pascha and the Divine Liturgy of St Basil.
Bishop Bartholomew was accompanied by Colonel Ioannis Fassianos, the Military Attaché of the Greek Embassy in Canberra.
In his sermon His Grace spoke about the importance of the Resurrection, that this historic and salvific event eradicated death, darkness, despair and sadness bringing life, joy, light and hope.
Concluding His Grace Bishop Bartholomew conveyed on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios the best wishes for the Feast of Pascha to Parish Priest Father Kyriakos Theologou and the community of Goulburn.
