Thronal feast day of Saint Theodore at the Greek Orthodox Parish of Rome

The Thronal Feast Day of Saint Theodore was celebrated at the Greek Orthodox Parish of Saint Theodore in Rome over the two-days, 15th – 16th February 2025.

The Great Vespers of the Sunday of the Prodigal Son and the Holy Great Martyr Theodore the Tyro was celebrated on Saturday, 15 February 2025, and was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Agathangelos of Phanari, General Director of “Apostoliki Diakonia” of the Church of Greece, with the participation of His Eminence Metropolitan Polykarpos of Italy, on the occasion of the feast of the patron saint of the aforementioned Church and parish in Rome (celebrated on 17 February).

On the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, 16 February 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Polykarpos of Italy and Exarch of Southern Europe presided over the Divine Liturgy. A large number of faithful and numerous dignitaries from the diplomatic, military and ecclesiastical authorities were present, led by the Ambassador of Greece in Rome, Her Excellency Ms. Eleni Sourani.

Responsible for the exceptional order, as well as for the decoration of the Church for the feast day, was Archimandrite Symeon Katsinas.
