Great and Holy Saturday at the Church of Saint Anna, Gold Coast, Queensland

On Great and Holy Saturday morning, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the newly appointed Archiepiscopal Vicar of Brisbane, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, visited the Church of Saint Anna in the city of the Gold Coast in Queensland and conducted the Vesperal Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great.

During his sermon, Bishop Bartholomew urged the congregation “to have joy in our hearts and trust in God for everything”, while conveying the paternal love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to the Parish Priest of the Parish, Fr. Romanos Stergiou, the President and the Parish-Community Council, the Ladies Auxiliary and to all the parishioners of Saint Anna.

During his reply, Father Romanos warmly welcomed His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis to the Gold Coast and the Parish, expressing his anticipation to work with His Grace for the spiritual and pastoral needs of the Greek Orthodox Parish-Community.
