Feast of the Universal Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Northcote, Victoria
In a festive atmosphere, in the presence of a multitude of believers, even though it was a weekday and a working day, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-giving Cross was celebrated in the Archdiocesan District of Northcote, Victoria.
On the day of the Feast, on Wednesday, September 14, His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta celebrated the festive Divine Liturgy at the Archdiocesan Holy Church of Panagia “Axion Estin”. During this, the service of the veneration of the Holy Cross was performed with reverence and religious fervor according to the typikon of our Church, while before the dismissal His Grace preached the divine word to the congregation, wishing the grace and blessing of the honorable Cross of Christ the Saviour to overshadow the whole world and especially our tested society, but also the youth who are its future.
His Grace also conveyed the wishes of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to all, for this very important celebration and feast day of Orthodox Christianity.
