Feast Day of the Holy Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni, Vathyrryakos, in the shadows of the devastating fire in Rhodope
Over two days, the 22nd and 23rd of August 2023, the Holy Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni, Vathyrryakos in Rhodope, celebrated to feast day of the Apodosis of the Dormition of the Theotokos. The festive holy services, which were presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon of Maroneia and Komotini, were held in a reverent and emotional atmosphere, due to the current catastrophic fires raging in Northen Greece.
In the evening, His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon presided over the Holy Litany of the Miraculous Icon of Panagia Faneromeni and then officiated during the Festive Vespers Service.
On the main day of the feast, His Eminence liturgised at the celebrating Holy Monastery and also addressed the homily to all the faithful who had come to celebrate the feast of the Theotokos.
Before the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Panteleimon wished that our Mother, the Theotokos, would free our homeland from the fiery blaze, and grant comfort, consolation and strength to the victims of the fires.
