Feast day of Saint Marina in Andros, Greece

In the Katholikon Church of the Holy Monastery of Saint Marina in Andros, which is especially honored by the people of Andros, with the participation of the Abbot, Archim. Kyprianos, along with Archimandrite Father Cherubim, and of the Abbess of the Holy Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi, Nun Parthenia, A Heirarchical Liturgy was held on Sunday morning, on the feast day of Saint Marina the Great Martyr,  presided over by the His Eminence Metropolitan Theoklitos of Bresthenes, along with His Eminence Metropolitan Dorotheos II of  of Syros, Tinos, Andros, Keas and Milos.

The feastal liturgy was attended by Member of Parliament of Cyclades, Aikaterini Monogyiou, the Prefect of Andros, Mr. Dimitrios Laskaris, the Mayor of Andros Mr. Dimitrios Lotsaris, the Deputy Mayor Mr. Dimitrios Giannis, the acting Mayor of Andros, Mr. Sousoudis, the Commander and Deputy Commander of the Ammolochos Naval Base, the Harbor Master Andros Lieutenant commander Coast Guard and Theodoros Krapsitis Officer of the Coast Guard of Andros,  the Deputy Commander and Officers of the Andros Fire Service,
the President of the Patriotic Association Mr. Maltabes, the head of Andros Civil Protection, and a multitude of believers from Andros, Greece and Cyprus.

The Homily was preached in an instructive manner by His Eminence Metropolitan Theoklitos of Bresthenes, who emphasised that the Saints of our Church are the consolation, our hope and presence, as they offer us the certainty of the Resurrection, like the honored Saint Marina.

His Eminence invited the numerous attendees to remain faithful to the traditions handed down from the fathers and to the preaching of Christ and the teaching of the Church, which are the only stable points of reference in a fluid and constantly changing world, with upheavals of values and ideals, and thanked His Eminence Metropolitan Dorotheos II for his invitation and the Abbot of the Monastery for their hospitality.

Metropolitan Dorotheos II, before the end of the Divine Liturgy, during which he tonsured three Readers , welcomed Metropolitan Theoklitos, he thanked and congratulated the Abbot of the Monastery for his ministry and care for it and wished all those present a happy summer.

The events were concluded with  traditional monastic hospitality.
