Falling asleep of Father Efthymios Lambropoulos of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia

The Holy Archdiocese of Australia announces with deep emotion the falling asleep in the Lord of Father Efthymios Lambropoulos.

The blessed priest was born in Stymfalia, Corinth in 1926 and immigrated to Australia in 1956. He entered the priesthood in 1977, ordained by His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia of blessed memory, at the Holy Apostles Church in Newcastle. He was then appointed Proistamenos of the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Wagga Wagga, where he served until 1982.

He was then transferred to the Church of the Annunciation in Mildura, Victoria, where he served for 25 consecutive years, until his retirement in 2007. Since then, he had returned to Newcastle, where he begun his priestly ministry.

The Funeral Service for Father Efthymios will be held next Monday, June 6 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Church in Newcastle. His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis will officiate at the funeral service on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. The burial will take place in the Greek Cemetery of Sandgate in Newcastle.
