Ecumenical Patriarchate: Communiqué on the work of the Holy and Sacred Synod

On Friday, 17 May 2024, under the chairmanship of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate met in regular session.

As pointed out in the relevant announcement: “to begin with, the usual addresses, wishes and responses, for the feast day of Pascha were exchanged between His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios of Canada, on behalf of the Holy and Sacred Synod,

During this session, As proposed by His All-Holiness and voted on by the regular members of the Holy and Sacred Synod, the three nominated persons were put forth by the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Holy Archdiocese of America, and following the voting, His Grace Bishop Constantine of Sassima was unanimously elected as the new Metropolitan of Denver, and is expected to arrive at the Holy Patriarchate, on Saturday 18 May 2024, for the conducting of the small and Great Message”.
