Ecumenical Patriarch to visit municipality of Peristeri for its 90th anniversary in spring

His Eminence Metropolitan Gregorios of Peristeri and Mayor Andreas Pahatouridis of Peristeri Municipality embarked on a significant visit to the headquarters of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the historic Phanar district.

The occasion for this visit was twofold: the Jubilee celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the Holy Metropolis of Peristeri and the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Municipality of Peristeri.

On Sunday, 25 February 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Gregorios and Mayor Andreas Pahatouridis had the honour of meeting with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, a momentous occasion held at the esteemed seat of Orthodoxy and Hellenism.

Mayor Pahatouridis shared the highlights of their meeting on social media, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the progress and future plans for their city with Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan Gregorios.

During their discussion, they outlined the initiatives undertaken for the improvement of the city of Peristeri and outlined future endeavours for the upcoming term. Additionally, they extended a heartfelt invitation to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to join in the commemorative events for Peristeri’s 90th anniversary.

It was with great joy that Patriarch Bartholomew accepted their invitation, expressing his intention to bless the celebrations with his presence during his forthcoming visit to Peristeri this spring.
