Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew: “We are all called to renew our commitment to dialogue and fruitful coexistence”

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, underlined the importance of interfaith and intercultural dialogue for the harmonious coexistence of different religions and cultures and the prevalence of peace among peoples during his speech at the opening of the work of the Conference organised on Wednesday, 19 July 2023, by the UNESCO Alladin Program and the International Summer University for Intercultural Leadership, at the Bahçeşehir University in Constantinople, and was dedicated to the memory of Chief Rabbi René-Samuel Sirat.

The Ecumenical Patriarch pointed out, among other things, that today everyone, people and institutions, are called to renew their commitment to dialogue and fruitful coexistence. “Amidst the human catastrophes of the 20th century and the challenges we continue to face today, the life and work of Chief Rabbi Sirat serve as a beacon of hope, leading to a future where knowledge defeats ignorance, dialogue defuses conflict and unity trumps division,” His All-Holiness concluded.
