Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visits Ankara and Lisbon
Having received an honorary invitation of the President of the Turkish Republic, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanied by the Third Patriarchal Deacon Father Varnavas, flew to Ankara, on Monday afternoon, 13 May 2024, where he attended the dinner held at the Beştepe Presidential Palace in honour of the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who was officially visiting Turkey.
The Patriarch returned to Constantinople the same day in order to depart early the following morning, Tuesday, 14 May 2024, for Lisbon, in order to participate in the work of the KAICIID Global Dialogue Forum, where he is the keynote speaker.
His All-Holiness will be accompanied by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, the Grand Ecclesiarch Archimandrite Aetios, Director of the Personal Patriarchal Office, Patriarchal Deacon Father Epifanios Kamianovych, while in Lisbon the Patriarchal Escort will also be joined by His Eminence Metropolitan Vissarion of Spain and Portugal.
