Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to travel to Tirana for the funeral service of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania

On Saturday, 25 January 2025, during his visit to the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Bischwiller, France, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew conducted a trisagion memorial service for the repose of the soul of the late Archbishop Anastasios of Albania, with whom he had been connected by brotherly friendship for many years.

On the morning of the same day, His Eminence the Patriarchal Commissioner, Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, also conducted a trisagion memorial service in the Venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George, in the Phanar, surrounded by the clergy of the Patriarchal Court.

The Ecumenical Patriarch intends to travel to Tirana to join the funeral service of the late Hierarch and to prayerfully send him off to eternity together with the other gathered brothers and concelebrants.
