Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiates at festal Divine Liturgy at celebrating Church of the 12 Apostles

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Thursday officiated at the festal Divine Liturgy at the celebrating Church of the 12 Apostles, in the Bosporus district of Feriköy.

In a sermon, His All Holiness noted that the feast day “…reminds us and teaches us, first of all, of the importance which the Lord bestowed to the simple, humble, insignificant and unlettered fishermen, and the trust with which He surrounded them, entrusting to them the preaching of His Gospel to the ends of the world.”

In a development also related to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, His All Holiness on Thursday received a delegation of European Parliament deputies representing the European People’s Party grouping.

During the meeting Phanar district see, members the European People’s Party work group on Inter-religious and Inter-cultural dialogue had the opportunity to discuss with the Ecumenical Patriarch issues of mutual interest, with a particular emphasis on the ongoing war in Ukraine and its tragic consequences.
