Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew departed for Geneva today to deliver speech at the UN

The Ecumenical Patriarchate announced that His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, departed today, Monday, 11 December 2023, for Geneva, to participate and deliver a speech at the World Conference on Refugees and Migrants (“Global Refugee Forum”), organised by the United Nations, in cooperation with the World Council of Churches and the organisation “Religions for Peace.”

The Ecumenical Patriarch will welcome and address the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, at the Orthodox Centre of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambésy. The President is also visiting Switzerland to participate, along with other heads of state and government, in the 75th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The Ecumenical Patriarch is accompanied by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Grand Ecclesiarch Archimandrite Aetios, Director of the Private Patriarchal Office, and Yvonne Viga, a lawyer.
