Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended 3rd Antalya Diplomacy Forum

On Friday, 1 March 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, invited by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mr. Hakan Fidan to the 3rd Antalya Diplomacy Forum, made his way to the city by air on Friday morning, accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Stephanos of Kallioupolis and Madytos.

At Antalya Airport, the Ecumenical Patriarch was welcomed by the local hierarch, His Eminence Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, along with the clergy of the district.

The Ecumenical Patriarch attended the inaugural meeting of the Forum, held at the Belek Conference Centre, where he listened to addresses delivered by the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs and the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In the afternoon, the Ecumenical Patriarch returned to Constantinople.

The Forum’s theme is “Advancing Diplomacy in Times of Turmoil,” and it boasts 4,000 participants, comprising numerous heads of state and government, ministers, ambassadors, and other distinguished figures.

During his attendance at the Forum, the Ecumenical Patriarch engaged in cordial discussions with Hungarian Prime Minister Mr. Viktor Orban, Turkish government ministers, and ambassadors accredited to Ankara with whom he has amicable relationships, among other notable figures.
