All That Insatiable Magic | Documentary
A documentary on the Mount Athos-inspired Good Friday tradition in the island of Skiathos.
Skiathos holds the only Good Friday procession in Greece that follows the monastic ritual of Mount Athos. A deeply spiritual event, lit by candlelight, it creates an atmosphere of profound reflection and reverence. The film by Panagiotis Kountouras, titled “All That Insatiable Enchantment,” respectfully captures the unique emotional tone of this Holy Week observance.
The protagonists are the people of Skiathos — of all ages — each sharing how they connect to this sacred tradition through personal memories and lived experience. Their stories reveal a strong, invisible bond with a heritage that remains a vibrant part of the island’s cultural identity.
