Drama: Feast Day celebration of Saint George Karslidis
The memory of the Holy and God-bearing Father Saint George (Karslidis) the new Confessor was celebrated with particular splendour in the Holy Metropolis of Drama.
On Friday evening, 3 November 2023, a vigil was held in the catholicon of the Holy Monastery of the Ascension of the Saviour (Sipsa), which was officiated by His Grace Bishop Kosmas of Konstantiani (Patriarch of Alexandria) and co-officiated by Their Eminences, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Kifissia, Metropolitan Gregorios of Tsalka (Patriarchate of Georgia) and Metropolitan Dorotheos of Drama.
On Saturday, 4 November 2023, a Poly-hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Kifissia, who also preached the holy sermon.
During the divine services of the feast day, the nuns of the Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos, Panorama, Thessaloniki, chanted the sacred hymns.
Crowds of people flocked to the place of the ascetical struggle of Saint George to venerate his holy relics, offer to him their problems and receive his grace.
