District of Northcote: Doxology for the conclusion of the Catechism program for people who will be baptised in the Orthodox Church

The Orthodox Catechism programs have been running for decades in the Archdiocesan District of Northcote.  These programs are suited for those who are searching their faith or have decided to be baptised Orthodox.  This year and for the first time, an official Doxology was organised at the end of the program for those who participated in it.

The Catechism program takes place every Tuesday night at the lecture rooms of the Archdiocese offices in Northcote  The program runs four times a year and lasts for 11 weeks each time.

With the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, assisted by the Holy Clergy of Northcote District, officiated the Doxology.

His Grace Bishop Evmenios congratulated those who attended the program and encouraged them to continue their journey in the Orthodox Church as well as decided to go the next step and be baptised.  «Being a member of the Orthodox Church is not only a blessing, but it is also a gift that gives each person the freedom and the opportunity to become “God by grace”», His Grace mentioned in his speech.

«The program you attended did not give you all knowledge to get to know God, but only the surface in order to help you get but a small glimpse of the mystery of God, because God is not a theory but an experience.»

At the end, His Grace Bishop Evmenios conveyed the blessing and the paternal love of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and on his behalf offered as a gift a book and an icon.  Each participant received a certificate of attendance.
