Decisions of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate

Under the chairmanship of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the regular meeting of the Holy and Sacred Synod met on Tuesday, June 27, and Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Among the decisions taken was that the deposition of Fr. Ioannis Koval was lifted and his priestly rank was reinstated.

It is also recalled that Archimandrite Theophanis Koja was elected Bishop of Philomelion by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for the needs of the Albanian-speaking Communities of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the USA.
