Christmas day on Prinkipo, Princes’ Islands

Leading up to the Great Feast Day of the Nativity of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Demetrios of Princes’ Islands, officiated at the Cathedral of Panagia Eleousa, Prinkipo, on Friday, 22 December 2023, during the Service of the Royal and Great Hours of Christmas and the Divine Liturgy on the Sunday before the nativity, 24 December, as well as during the Great Vespers of Christmas.

On the next day, Monday, 25 December, the day of the Great Feast of the Nativity of Jesus Christ, His Eminence Metropolitan Demetrios presided over the Divine Liturgy with a large congregation of faithful Christians in attendance.

A formal reception followed with the participation of the congregation, representatives of the Municipal Authorities of the island and many visitors, in whose presence teenagers and children of Prinkipo, under the guidance of the Director of the Community School, Ms. Agnis Nikolaidou, sang traditional carols with the special grace of their tender age.
