Cephalonia commemorates patron saint Gerasimos
The feast day of Gerasimos of Cephalonia was celebrated with festive and splendorous ecclesiastical rite on Thursday on the Ionian Sea Island, as Saint Gerasimos is the patron saint of Cephalonia.
A Poly-Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was held in the morning at the dedicated cathedral in the town of Omala, officiated by the visiting Metropolitan of Elassona, His Eminence Charitonos, and co-officiated by the resident Metropolitan of Cephalonia, His Eminence Dimitrios.
A procession of the Holy Relics of St. Gerasimos followed.
