Celebratory start of the new school year for Zografeion School in Constantinople

On Monday, 19 September 2022, the annual Agiasmos blessing for the beginning of the new school year for the students and teachers of the Zografeion High School of Constantinople, was performed by the Hierarchal Proistamenos of Stavrodromi, His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Saranta Ekklesies.

After the conclusion of the agiasmos blessing service, His Eminence prayed for and wished to all those who were present a “good, happy and dynamic new school year”.

Also present for the celebrations were His Grace Bishop Benjamin of Tralleon, the Education Coordinator Yiannis Gigurtsis,  and the president of the renowned Community of Stavrodromi, Georgos Papaliaris.

Upon their arrival, the students held 129 balloons which symbolised the 129 years since the founding of the school by Christakis Zografos and let them fly off before entering the church.
