Celebration of the Feast Day of Saint Nektarios at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral, Uganda

On Thursday, 9 November 2023, His Grace Bishop Silvestros of Jinja served the Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Jinja, Uganda, to celebrate the feast of our father among the saints, Nektarios Metropolitan of Pentapolis and Wonder-worker of Aegina.

One of the most revered modern saints, Nektarios served under the Patriarchate of Alexandria, particularly as the Metropolitan of Pentapolis in Eastern Libya before moving to Aegina in Greece, where he worked wonders and innumerable multitude of miracles were wrought after his repose in 1920 through his incorruptible relics. Saint
Nektarios was ranked among the saints in 1961 by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
