Athens: Opening of the 4th International Conference of the Archons of the Ecumenical Throne
On Sunday, 26 May 2024, The 4th International Conference of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on human rights, democracy and religious freedom began in Athens.
On Sunday morning, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was held, officiated by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Athens.
In the afternoon, a reception was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece to welcome the participants, who were welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Giorgos Kotsiras.
At the reception, the following greetings were made:
– Mr. Athanasios Martinos, Archon Exarchos of the Great Church of Christ, President of the Brotherhood of Archons ‘Panagia Pammakaristos’, Co-chair of the Conference.
-Anthony J. Limberakis, Archon Grand Aktouarios and National Commander of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in America, Co-chair of the Conference.
The last to speak was His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, representative of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
Present also were Hierarchs of the Throne many Archons from the USA, Europe, Australia, Greece and other parts of the world attended.
The reception was accompanied by a musical trio of distinguished musicians: Stella Tsani (violin), Lefki Kolovou (cello) and Dorin Laskaridou (guitar).
