Archbishop Makarios of Australia joined by the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese for Paschal meal

At midday on the Sunday of Pascha, 20 April 2025, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia sat down to a festive Paschal meal at a Greek restaurant in the centre of Sydney, with fellow diners, colleagues and friends, including the Prime Minister of Australia, The Hon. Anthony Albanese MP.

His Eminence exchanged warm Paschal wishes with Prime Minister Albanese, while they had a cordial and friendly discussion during the meal, on matters of common interest.

The Archbishop’s guests also included the Ambassador of Greece to Australia, His Excellency Mr. Stavros Venizelos, and the Consul General of Greece in Sydney, Mr. Ioannis Mallikourtis.
